Dr.-Ing. Norbert Miller was born in 1962 in Mönchengladbach. From 1982 to 1986, he studied electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen University. After working abroad at IBM in Great Britain and Tektronix in the USA, he worked until 1989 in the Central Unit for Production Technology of Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart-Schwieberdingen. In 1990, he received his doctorate in mechanical engineering at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen University under Dr. Pfeifer.
After completing his doctorate, Dr. Miller founded a software company at the Technology Center Aachen, which he successfully developed and headed until 1993.
Since 1993, Dr. Miller has been a member of the Management Board of Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH in Mönchengladbach, whose chairmanship he took over from his father, Dr. h.c. Gert Miller, in early 2004. He represents the fifth generation of the founding and owning family in the company management.
Since October 2002, Dr. Miller has been an honorary commercial judge at the Mönchengladbach District Court, and since February 2007, he has also been Vice-President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Middle Lower Rhine.
