A day as a working student

My name is Anna-Lena Kauws*, I am 23 years old and live with my parents in Bottrop. After graduating from high school, I started my bachelor studies in nano- and material sciences in 2009. As part of this study, I completed a three-week internship in the quality management department of TRIMET at the Essen site.

Due to very positive experiences, I was happy to come back every semester break as a vacation worker. Following the successful completion of my Bachelor's degree in August 2012, I enrolled in the international Master's program "Materials Science and Simulation" at the Ruhr University in Bochum. At the same time, I had the chance to work as a student trainee at TRIMET alongside my studies.

TRIMET not only allows me to combine study and practice, but also to finance my studies, thus offering me the best opportunities. For me, TRIMET is the perfect place to work. Here I would like to show you what a typical working student day looks like for me.

*Anna-Lena Kauws is now an M. Sc. Materials Science and Simulation student and works at TRIMET in Essen as a project engineer in the company's own laboratory in the area of quality management materials technology.
