Despite lower aluminum prices on the world market, the material specialist was able to hold its ground by increasing production of primary aluminum and extending its product portfolio. Pleasingly, demand was at a record level throughout, driven by an increasing aluminum boom in the automotive sector. Dialog with young people: students visit the Essen plant

Mar 26, 2014 | Senior school students in the Ruhr region were given the chance to experience the world of business up-close by visiting local companies. The “dialog with young people” program organized by the Initiativkreis Ruhr makes such experiences possible. Host for two afternoons in March was TRIMET. TRIMET welcomed around 80 students and their teachers on March 13 and a similar number on March 25 as they took a tour around the electrolysis plant and foundry in Essen. The plant tour was followed by an extensive talk with TRIMET owner Heinz-Peter Schlüter. TRIMET has been involved in the “dialog with young people” program for a number of years. “We want to give young people a real insight into our industry and their career opportunities,” says Heinz-Peter Schlüter explaining the company’s commitment to the project.
