TRIMET receives prize in innovation competition

TRIMET was honored for the project “Vocational Training for Refugees”. With this initiative, the medium-sized company will be creating a total of 66 additional training opportunities for refugees by the year 2022 at its production plants in Essen, Hamburg and Voerde. “Today’s prizewinners show in a particularly impressive way how companies in North Rhine-Westphalia are rising to meet challenging transformations in the economy. Their innovative solutions show how much inventiveness and creativity can be found in North Rhine-Westphalian companies,” said Economics Minister Pinkwart.
“For many years now in the Ruhr area, industrial jobs have been a driving factor for integration. They allow self-determined lives and social participation for many people. As a family business, we see it as our responsibility to use this special strength to foster social coexistence, thereby contributing to society. Our employees support this project with exemplary dedication – both in professional areas and beyond,” said Martin Iffert.
The “NRW – Economy in Change” competition is organized by the “Germany – Land of Ideas” initiative and was held for the third time in 2018. TRIMET was awarded the prize for the “Virtual Battery” project in 2015.
