Thomas Flesch began his career in 1984 as a factory mechanic in the Essen aluminium plant. He then retrained to become a certified mechanical engineering technician specializing in manufacturing technology. He was shift manager in the aluminium electrolysis division of the Essen plant from 1997. In 2003 he joined the day shift and was responsible for the development and training of electrolysis employees.
Flesch was elected a member of the works council in 2002. In 2006 he became chairman of the works council at the Essen plant. Since 2012, he has been chairman of the general works council in the “Primary Products” division at the TRIMET plants in Essen and Hamburg.
Following the transformation to TRIMET Aluminium SE, the SE works council elected him as its first chairman in June 2013.
