Dr. Andreas Lützerath studied metallurgy and materials engineering at RWTH Aachen University. After graduating as a qualified engineer, he worked as a project engineer at the Institute of Process Metallurgy and Metal Recycling at RWTH Aachen University. There he oversaw public and industrial research projects as project director and was also active in teaching.
After obtaining his doctorate, Lützerath switched to the Hamburg subsidiary of TRIMET Aluminium SE in 2009 as Director of Process and Quality Control. In addition to his tasks at the Hamburg site, he carried out KAIZEN programs and related activities as Lean Manager at TRIMET’s Harzgerode plant in 2011. From 2012 to 2015, he was Director of Electrolysis at TRIMET’s aluminium smelter in Hamburg.
Since October 2015, Lützerath has been Plant Manager at TRIMET’s Essen site. Dr. Andreas Lützerath was appointed Chief Technical Officer of TRIMET Aluminium SE on November 26, 2018.
