| Holger Stemmler became the new Chief Financial Officer of TRIMET Aluminium SE on October 1, 2019. He succeeds Martin Söffge, who is leaving the company at his own request. Stemmler previously held international financial positions for the Royal Dutch Shell Group and the Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company, among others. The business administration graduate has more than 20 years of industry experience in the energy and raw materials sectors.

| The aluminium manufacturer TRIMET has become a member of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI). The materials specialist will work within the framework of the international organization on the further development of standards for sustainable aluminium production.

| TRIMET Aluminium SE has begun extensive construction measures to assist environmental and landscape protection in the Ruhr area. With the extensive conversion of the wastewater system at the Essen production site, the family-owned company is making a contribution to ecologically renaturing the Emscher with the Emschergenossenschaft (Emscher River Management Association).

| Eleven apprentices have completed their training at TRIMET Aluminium SE’s Essen plant and are now starting their careers with the materials specialist. The young men and women celebrated the end of their apprenticeships and the start of their careers with a celebratory meal. “I am very pleased that we have been able to recruit qualified and motivated employees who will help shape the future of TRIMET,” said Philipp Schlüter, Chairman of the Executive Board of TRIMET Aluminium SE. “By training our own junior staff, we are actively safeguarding the future of our location.”

| On Saturday, June 15, 2019, eleven teams from various TRIMET Aluminium SE plants met in Voerde for a soccer tournament with international participants. Eleven teams from five locations of the aluminium manufacturer competed for the TRIMET Cup, including three teams from the aluminium smelter in Voerde and a team from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne in France, where TRIMET also operates an aluminium smelter. The coveted trophy was won by the French team from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, who will be given the opportunity to defend the title at the next TRIMET Cup in 2021.

| TRIMET Aluminium SE has begun the trial operation of its “virtual battery”. Initial research work began six years ago. Now the energy supply for aluminium production at the Essen plant can be controlled flexibly for the first time. This will create a huge power storage facility that will make it easier to integrate discontinuously generated electricity from renewable energy sources into the power grid. A total of around 36 million euros was invested in the conversion.

| TRIMET Aluminium SE’s Research & Development division has received an award from the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS). At this year’s International Conference on Powder Metallurgy in San Antonio, Texas, TRIMET researchers Jan Steglich, Christiane Matthies and Marcel Rosefort, as well as Bernd Friedrich, Head of the Institute IME Process Metallurgy and Metal Recycling at RWTH Aachen University, received the TMS Award for their outstanding scientific contribution in the recycling field.

| TRIMET Aluminium SE is calling on its workforce to vote in the forthcoming European Parliament elections. The family-run business is using a poster campaign across all its production sites to urge its employees to exercise their right to vote on May 26, 2019 and make their voices heard in Europe.

| TRIMET Aluminium SE now offers its employees a free test for the early detection of colon cancer. All 2,300 employees at TRIMET’s production locations can undergo the screening test, in which their samples are tested by a medical laboratory for signs of colon cancer.

| TRIMET Aluminium SE has expanded the analysis capacity of its test laboratory in Essen with new systems. A state-of-the-art 5-axis robot from ABB is automating the preparation of samples in various forms for spectral analysis. The system lightens the workload of employees, who can focus on evaluating data to guarantee the zero-defect policy of TRIMET materials.
