Aluminium is our specialist field. Accordingly, it is no problem for us to operate along the entire value creation chain: development, production, marketing, and recycling. Our 2,400 employees across eight locations are committed to providing a comprehensive service. We call it a “one-stop service,” even though we know that in reality 4,800 hands are pulling out all the stops along this chain.

Philipp Schlüter – Vorsitzender des Vorstands

Philipp Schlüter studied Business Administration in Bern and London. After completing his Master’s degree in Business Management, he began his professional career at UBS Investment Bank in London. In 2009, he joined TRIMET Schweiz AG, where he held senior positions in the areas of risk management, raw material procurement and energy management, as well as in the trade and distribution of aluminium products.

From 2015 to 2018, Schlüter was Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TRIMET Aluminium SE, where he represented the interests of the owner family. In November 2018, Schlüter was appointed Chief Executive Officer of TRIMET Aluminium SE. His appointment is an expression of the family’s commitment to the continuous development of the company.

Among other things, Schlüter is Chairman of European Aluminium, the association of the European aluminium industry, a member of the Presiding Committee of WirtschaftsVereinigung Metalle (Federation of the Metal Industry in Germany) and a board member of the BDI initiative “Circular Economy”.

Ralf Koslowski

After completing his training as a wholesale and retail salesman, Ralf Koslowski initially worked in specialized wholesale trade. In 1993, he joined the auditing firm KPMG in Düsseldorf and completed an on-the-job degree program, graduating as a business economist (VWA). In November 1998, Koslowski joined TRIMET Handel AG, where he headed the Finance and Accounting department from 2004 onwards.

In 2008, Koslowski moved to today’s TRIMET Aluminium SE as Deputy Head of the Finance and Accounting department. Since 2018, he has been responsible for finance and accounting at Trimet as Department Head. Ralf Koslowski was appointed to the Executive Board of TRIMET Aluminium SE on July 1, 2023. There, he oversees the areas of finance, taxes and procurement.

Gregor Kottmann studied economics and business administration at the University of Siegen and joined TRIMET in 2010 as a degree candidate. After completing his studies, he worked as a controller in the company from 2011 onwards. In 2018, he took over as Head of the Controlling department. Since October 2020, Gregor Kottmann has been a member of the Supervisory Board of TRIMET France SAS.

On July 1, 2023, Kottmann was appointed to the Executive Board of TRIMET Aluminium SE, where he oversees central finance-related responsibilities within the organization.

Dr. Andreas Lützerath – Mitglied des Vorstands

Dr. Andreas Lützerath studied metallurgy and materials engineering at RWTH Aachen University. After graduating as a qualified engineer, he worked as a project engineer at the Institute of Process Metallurgy and Metal Recycling at RWTH Aachen University. There he oversaw public and industrial research projects as project director and was also active in teaching.

After obtaining his doctorate, Dr. Andreas Lützerath switched to the Hamburg subsidiary of TRIMET Aluminium SE in 2009 as Director of Process and Quality Control. In addition to his tasks at the Hamburg site, he carried out KAIZEN programs and related activities as Lean Manager at TRIMET’s Harzgerode plant in 2011. From 2012 to 2015, he was Director of Electrolysis at TRIMET’s aluminium smelter in Hamburg.

From October 2015 to December 2023, Dr. Andreas Lützerath was the plant manager of the TRIMET site in Essen. On November 26, 2018, he was also appointed as the Chief Technical Officer of TRIMET Aluminium SE.

Dr. Thomas Ludwig

Dr. Thomas Ludwig studied mathematics and business administration in Goettingen, Freiburg, Glasgow and Bonn and completed his doctorate in business administration in 1977. He began his professional career at Kloeckner Werke AG and worked there until 1984, most recently as Head of Central Materials Management for the Steel Group.

Dr. Thomas Ludwig became Head of the Aluminum Division of Kloeckner & Co SE. After holding various management positions, he became a member of the Management Board of Kloeckner & Co SE in 1991 with responsibility for the Raw Materials, Environmental Technology and Mobile Buildings Divisions. In 1995, Dr. Thomas Ludwig moved to the Thyssen Group, from 1999 the ThyssenKrupp Group, where he was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Thyssen Kloeckner Recycling GmbH and at the same time a member of the Management Board of Thyssen Handelsunion AG.
Dr. Thomas Ludwig took over as CEO of ThyssenKrupp Serv AG in 2001. In November 2003, he was appointed CEO of Kloeckner & Co SE.

Dr. Thomas Ludwig has been Affiliate Partner Lindsay Goldberg since January 2010. He is also Chairman of Lindsay Goldberg Europe GmbH, Düsseldorf.

Markus Delwing

Markus Delwing studied law at the University of St. Gallen. After completing his studies, he worked as a research assistant for Prof. Dr. E. Höhn at the Institute of Public Finance and Fiscal Law until 1993. In 1994, Delwing switched to commodity trading at Marc Rich AG, now called Glencore International AG.

From 1996 to 2000, he worked for Glencore Aluminium and Alumina in Hong Kong and Beijing. In 2001 Markus Delwing returned to the headquarters in Baar as Partner, where he oversaw Aluminium China & Asia. He became a Member of the Executive Board for the Aluminium division and represented Glencore’s interests on the Supervisory Board of Kubikenborg Aluminium AB (Kubal). After leaving Glencore at the time of the company’s IPO in 2009, Markus Delwing worked as an independent risk management consultant in the commodities sector.

Markus Delwing has been Managing Director of TRIMET Schweiz AG since early 2012 and was appointed to the HPS Familienstiftung Board in 2015.

Thomas Flesch

Thomas Flesch began his career in 1984 as a factory mechanic in the Essen aluminium plant. He then retrained to become a certified mechanical engineering technician specializing in manufacturing technology. He was shift manager in the aluminium electrolysis division of the Essen plant from 1997. In 2003 he joined the day shift and was responsible for the development and training of electrolysis employees.

Thomas Flesch was elected a member of the works council in 2002. In 2006 he became chairman of the works council at the Essen plant. Since 2012, he has been chairman of the general works council in the “Primary Products” division at the TRIMET plants in Essen and Hamburg.

Following the transformation to TRIMET Aluminium SE, the SE works council elected him as its first chairman in June 2013.
