The non-profit organization brings more than 190 aluminium producers and processors from the entire aluminium value chain together with non-governmental organizations to develop certification procedures for the responsible production, procurement, processing and recycling of aluminium under ethical, social and environmental criteria.
TRIMET production plant in Essen receives ASI certificate
The TRIMET production plant in Essen received ASI certification in April 2023. In accordance with the Performance Standard of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI), both the aluminium smelter and the foundry meet the globally recognized requirements for ecologically and socially sustainable production and responsible corporate governance in the aluminium industry. The certification encompasses the development, production and distribution of primary and recycled aluminium in cast and liquid form. The comprehensive tests were carried out by TÜV Nord Cert GmbH.
TRIMET sites in France receive ASI certification
The two French TRIMET production sites were certified according to the Performance Standard of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) in April 2022. This means that the aluminum smelter in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and the foundry in Castelsarrasin meet the globally applicable requirements for sustainable aluminum production. With a low carbon footprint, we enable our customers to produce climate-friendly products and make a contribution to achieving global climate protection targets. The audit of the two sites under the umbrella of TRIMET France SAS covered a total of 59 criteria and was carried out by DEKRA Certification.
Gelsenkirchen plant receives first ASI certificate
Since November 2021, the TRIMET’s the recycling plant has completed certification in accordance with the Performance Standard of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI). This means the aluminium specialist’s recycling plant meets globally applicable requirements for ecologically and socially sustainable production, as well as responsible corporate governance in the aluminium industry. The assessment, based on a total of 59 criteria, was carried out by TÜV Nord Cert GmbH.
