A new filter system was commissioned at TRIMET's recycling plant in Harzgerode, significantly improving working conditions in the material handling area. The system protects employees from harmful dust that is generated during the unloading of aluminum scrap. A specially designed nozzle plate ensures large-scale dust extraction immediately at the source, creating a safer and healthier work environment.
A few months earlier, the team in Harzgerode had already celebrated another milestone: In April, an extension to the existing office building was completed. The extension adds 180 square meters across two floors, providing more comfort and functionality.
The first floor features an expanded locker room with a so-called black-and-white separation, preventing clean personal clothing (white) from coming into contact with soiled work clothing (black) – an important step toward improved hygiene and employee well-being. This level also includes new offices for the works council and company doctor.
The second floor offers a spacious conference room and two additional offices, providing an optimal environment for meetings and administrative tasks. Yellow guardrails installed in front of the new extension clearly separate pedestrian and vehicle paths, enhancing safety throughout the site.
"The new filter system and the expanded office building demonstrate our commitment to the safety and well-being of our employees," emphasizes Dr. Andreas Lützerath, Chief Technical Officer of TRIMET Aluminium SE. "These investments strengthen the Harzgerode site and highlight our dedication to providing a modern and secure working environment."
With these innovations, the recycling plant in Harzgerode once again shows the importance of continuous improvement in working conditions, safety, and efficiency.
