Nearly all TRIMET apprenticeship positions filled

17.02.2021

TRIMET Aluminium SE continues to offer apprenticeships at the same scale as in previous years. This year the materials manufacturer is once again offering young people a total of 35 apprenticeships in commercial and technical professions at four production locations across Germany. The majority of positions which start training in late summer have already been filled.

TRIMET takes a good deal of time to select its next generation of employees; interviews with potential candidates begin as early as October of the year before. This careful preparation benefits both sides. After all, TRIMET apprentices are offered full-time jobs by the family business once they have completed their training. And the company would like to continue following this principle in the future.

The coronavirus pandemic has had no impact on the number of apprenticeship positions at the materials specialist or how they are filled. “We continue to supply our customers with aluminium to the fullest extent. Our qualified employees ensure this reliability. To safeguard continuity, we remain true to the principle of training our own junior staff,” says Philipp Schlüter, CEO of TRIMET Aluminium SE. In Germany, 98 young men and women are currently completing apprenticeships at TRIMET.

For the start of training in 2022, the company is preparing for a more elaborate selection process of applicants. Because career information events and internships cannot take place at present, next year’s school leavers will have to make their career choice with less background knowledge.
