TRIMET is pursuing the goal of achieving climate-neutral production of aluminium by 2045. To this end, the materials specialist is continuously investing in the modernization of its production facilities and the development of new technologies. These include the new METRICS^® process control system, which establishes a uniform company-wide standard at the highest level. In the future, it will replace various control systems at several sites and form the technological basis for green transformation. In addition, TRIMET is currently engaged in a research project focused on an inert anode that releases oxygen instead of carbon dioxide during aluminium production. This innovative process requires new furnace technology, which TRIMET is developing with the help of METRICS^®.

The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative is a global, non-profit organization that promotes the responsible production, sourcing and processing of aluminium. Its more than 310 members include aluminium producers and processors along the entire value chain, as well as leading civil society organizations. The certification program is the only voluntary initiative for sustainability standards in the aluminium industry. It covers environmental, social and corporate governance areas.
