At work, performance alone counts, not gender

Gender equality

Gender equality is a dictate of justice that is necessary for the sustainable development of the economy and society.

Therefore, TRIMET is committed to gender equity, both within the company and beyond. In order to enforce this value in the working world, TRIMET is committed to empowering women in all areas and at all levels of the company. Wherever possible, the family-owned company uses its influence to promote the principle of equality throughout the supply chain.

Gender equality
Empowering women serves the company’s development and is in line with its sustainability goals.

Women’s Empowerment Principles

TRIMET supports the Women’s Empowerment Principles jointly developed by UN Women, the UN Agency for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment and the UN Global Compact corporate initiative. These Women’s Empowerment Principles are based on international labor and human rights standards and are an important tool for implementing the global sustainability goals set by the United Nations in its 2030 Agenda with regard to gender equality. In addition to equal pay for equal work, these encompass measures for the advancement of women and zero tolerance for discrimination.

The Women’s Empowerment Principles consist of seven principles.

  1. Establish high-level corporate leadership for gender equality
  2. Treat all women and men fairly at work – respect and support human rights and nondiscrimination
  3. Ensure the health, safety and well-being of all female and male workers
  4. Promote education, training and professional development for women
  5. Implement enterprise development, supply chain and marketing practices that empower women
  6. Promote equality through community initiatives and advocacy
  7. Measure and publicly report on progress to achieve gender equality
